Getting naked and worked up leaves us open to many embarrassing moments, doesn't it? I must say, I have lots of personal examples:
* Passing out during foreplay with an insecure new lover (um, yeah the relationship didn't last long after that).

The Supreme Court of Canada handed down a ruling by overturning an appeal previously upheld by an Ontario's highest court. In the decision, the Court clearly defines the role of child welfare officials as protecting the interests of the child, and only the interests of the child. In part, the decision reads:
"If the choice is between the best interests of the child and the family's wishes, there is, by statute, no choice... [A child-welfare official's] statutory mandate is to treat the child's interests as paramount. They must be free to execute this mandate to the fullest extent possible."

Recently, a Toronto man was given an 18 month sentence for shaking a baby in a parking lot. According to his account, the seven month old baby was crying while he was on the phone with his common-law spouse, and he was concerned the spouse would hear the child. The infant was the daughter of his girlfriend (but apparently not his child) who was in a store purchasing him a tape measure.
To recap: while his girlfriend went into a store to buy something for him, he violently shook her baby to conceal their affair from his spouse.

Ever lie on the bed after a sweaty bout of ho-hum sex and wonder where the sizzle went? As your partner rolls off of you and pads his way into the bathroom, do you ask yourself what the hell just happened? Sex used to be combustive. The air sizzled when the two of you looked at each other, and once you started bumping uglies the whole world quaked until you wondered if you were going to die from pleasure.

A couple of weeks ago, I asked you how often you were getting some action (speaking of which, would the seven people who replied "three times/week or more" please share your secrets!!). Personally, I tend to pleasure myself more often than I make love--it's just easier and more efficient.

"This is the ghetto dude I spoke to before."
That line was in an email between two individuals discussing hiring a student for a job. Was the use of a quasi-racial epithet found in some backwards town in the deep south? Was it used somewhere in the United States? No.
It was used in the Ontario Government. No, I am not kidding. And since the story broke, they now want to apologize.

Today we look at two very different articles with one common theme: the safety of children.
First up, a report on playground injuries and how there has been a noted decrease of over 40% in hospital admissions due to injuries sustained on a playground. The decrease has been credited to the City of Toronto investment in improving playground equipment across the area. Specific improvements highlighted included softer surfaces and better railings and barriers. The article also noted that the majority of injuries occur in the 5-9 year old age range, and attributed this to a period where children are more confident and parents are more relaxed on the playground instead of hovering over their kids.

A few posts ago I was talking about my unfulfilled bi-curiosity. Seems like I'm not alone. Your comments were (snicker) gratifying, but one in particular stuck in my mind:
Doesn't it seem that more people see a woman being with another woman (when they are straight for the most part) as more "natural" than male with male. Which doesn't seem to make sense. Or is that just me that thinks that way?

Twins - are triplets, for that matter - are on the rise. Yes, there are more of us that are having, well, more of us. And I've found a few cute books about the joys of having more (at once).
