So a few weeks ago I was running some errands on Bloor st.
Oh alright...maybe I should start again.
So a few weeks ago I was shopping up a storm on Bloor st. because let's face it, shoe shopping really isn't considered an "errand" is it?
Any-who...one of the best washrooms on the strip is at Holt Renfrew. It's clean and has a private room for nursing mothers- which back in the day was a god send.
After "freshening up" and indulging in a little shoe sale action, we realized it was lunch time and we were all pretty hungry.
I had the family in tow and we were trying to figure out where to go for a quick bite that would be good and toddler friendly.
The Holt's Cafe didn't instantly come to mind even though we were standing only a few feet away from the hostess at the front of the restaurant.

I love sex. Sure, there are parts about sex that don't thrill me; the lockjaw of a good hummer given, the damned wet spot which always seems to be on my side of the bed and the fact that since the kids have grown up a bit more I can't be as um, vocal as I'd like.
Nothing kills the mood when the kiddies wander in mid-thrust and ask why it sounds as if daddy is killing mommy.

One of the good things about being home for a whole week with a very sick toddler is that you get to watch a lot of TV. Well, it's a good thing if you like Treehouse TV, that is. (And let me just take a moment here to applaud all the people who don't allow their toddlers to watch TV, or who - god forbid - don't own a TV. You guys rock. But what in the world do you do to entertain a kid who is sick and doesn't want to do anything? A kid who is sick and exhausted, but still only has one hour-long nap for the whole very long day??)

Every week or two, a library receives a box of new materials. It will be a mix, containing books, DVDs, books on tape, CDs for children, teens, and adults. It's often taken a while to wind its way through the paths of pubisher to distributor to library, through processing, and out to the branch. But it is always a little thrill to see what's in there. Today, to atone for my scant blogging while on holiday recently, I share a few new finds with you, ones that have just hit the shelves and are still all fresh and shiny.

I really responded to Racy's post, "Take It Like a Man".
My husband is sweet, thoughtful and considerate. He realizes my sexual desire is less since I had a child, and he knows how tired I am. He knows my life is busy: when our child is sleeping, I am usually working furiously, and he is very careful about not interrupting my concentration.

Today I am going to try and discuss a subject that I am sure there are at least some readers out there believe I have no business talking about, much less give an opinion on. To those who, after reading this column, still feel this way, please remain civil in your comments.
A woman in Quebec was married approximately six months ago and has chosen to take her husband's surname. She recently discovered a law (that has been on the books in that province since 1981) that makes it nearly impossible to do so. In Quebec, a woman is forbidden from taking her husband's surname after marriage, even through a legal name change (which is restricted to "valid reasons" such as having a name that has become infamous or is difficult to spell and/or pronounce).

Hello. My name is Texas Tornado and I like girls.
There. I’ve said it.
The female form is so much more aesthetically pleasing than the male form. Men have dangly, hairy bits that they’re always sticking in your face. And sometimes they smell bad. Women have smooth, gentle curves and they bathe in sweet smelling salts and oils.

Late last week, Mattel (parent company to Fisher-Price) issued a recall of nearly a million toys due to concerns about lead poisoning. The toys, made in China, were believed to have been covered with paint that had hazardous levels of lead. Ripples were felt through the blogosphere as parents spread the word about the potential danger, the second such warning in the last couple months (Thomas & Friends wooden trains were recalled for a similar reason). The Globe and Mail even ran a feature on a family that avoids "modern" toys for contrast.

Hey all you horny mamas (and papas). Racy Red and I have been spilling our sordid guts all over these pages for a while now and I must say, it's a blast. And it's having a positive effect on my sex life (I need to have more sex if I'm going to write a sex column, right!)
