I did not like being pregnant one bit. I felt like shit, and looked like it too. I gained far too much weight. My hair didn't grow lustrous; my face didn't glow. But one thing I did enjoy (besides huge knockers) was not thinking about birth control for nine months.
I was on the pill for 15 years before trying to conceive my daughter. I figure I'm too old to go ever go back on it, but despite the convenience, I'm much better off without it anyway. Oddly enough, my periods are actually more regular now that I'm off the pill and my PMS is no worse (I was a bitch for a few days every month then, so nothing's changed). Has anyone else had this experience?
Hot Daddy and I don't plan to expand our little family anytime soon,
so we can't just make whoopee au naturale. For the past couple of
years, we've been doing it like teenagers again. And I don't mean
teenagers in the good sense (being constantly horny) rather we're back
to having to stop at the crucial moment so Hot Daddy can fumble with
prophylactics while I nod off wait patiently.
Though they dampen the mood a little, condoms aren't all bad. In fact, there are some advantages to rubbing bellies with a rubber. There's no wet spot, so there's no need to remember to strategically roll him off me and mount him before he comes, leaving the wet spot on his side. There's no wet spot in me to clean up (a bonus for someone who no longer has time to shower every morning). There are fewer queefs. Plus, Hot Daddy swears the condoms these days are much better than the johnnies of our youth: they're thinner and not as desensitizing (though that wasn't really a bad thing-he lasted longer when he could feel it less). They come in all sorts of varieties, most of which are for her pleasure.
Still, it's nice to ride bareback. Every now and then, when the timing's right, we live dangerously. It feels good.
But I'm curious-what are all you crazy kids using for birth control these days?

Condoms. Im 23 and we will probably try for our third in about two years, but I just cant take that damn pill. I was on it before kids, but now when I try to take it it's like a hormone overload and I cant stand it. Im a condom fan, personally.

I totally heart my BC. I've been on the pill since my son was born. At the time, it dried up my milk but now, its my best friend. I recently switched to the generic version and my hormones have relaxed. Then again, the recent switch in partners may be responsible for THAT little gem!

If you're not planning on having any more kids, just go ahead and have your husband get a vasectomy. It's so nice to not have to worry about condoms anymore.

Joel--we do plan to have one more eventually. Otherwise, I'd be all over that!

Three words (or one depending on how you look at it): mini-pill and condoms. Oooh! And I heard about Mirena. My friend has it and she says it works great. It's a b.c. that they implant in your hoo-hoo (ha-ha!) and it prevents pregnancy for 5-yrs. AND if you decide to get pregnant again all you have to do is have the Dr. take it out and you can start trying right away.

We do exactly what you guys are doing. And I do love the easy clean up. LOL. We live dangerously on occassion, too, we just make sure it is not near ovulation time.

We had the big snip. Note how I said 'we'. Cuz his willy is MINE!
I miss condoms though. Fucking wet spot is always on my damn side of the bed.

Dam girl, its been so long ago i had to worry about that. My first wife and I started kids at 22, then at 27, when the barn was filled with 2 boys, we wanted a girl, and this was way before knowing the sex of your baby, I got cut. We didnt want a third boy, and then thinking about having a 4th. My second and current wife (first died) she got toxic shock back in the 70's, had a hysterectomy, so now we were double fixed. Then back in Dec, I was diagnosed with prostate cancer, had that sucka ripped out, now I just "hum" LOL.
LOL,

I have the Merena IUD & it is the BEST!!! The pill makes me sick so after my 3rd kid, who was not planned but whom I would not give up for the world, was born I had the IUD put in. After 6 months to a year you stop having a period or spot very little. I would have done this years ago had I known the advantages & no PMS! As hotmama said, it is good for up to 5 years & you can have it removed at anytime prior to that if you want. My dr. put it in right in the office & my insurance paid for most of it so is cheaper than me paying for the pill.

My man has "issues" with the while snipping thing. So we use the Minera. It rocks! I totally recommend it, in 6-12 months you will be period free and it's bareback all the way.

This post is way to familiar to me.
We've GOT to figure out our next step. I love the no wet spot. I hate all other aspects of it.

Many men have issues with the snip, but it's all in their heads.
Condoms break, and lets face, they aren't any fun... and until just a few years ago, using them, for me, was like wearing some sort of s&m constriction device on my dick. I swearr until they started making condoms in larger sizes (not bragging, here, ladies, just sayin') wearing a condom was utter buzz-kill.

My man is sponge worthy (they are available OTC in Canada). They also allow for instant (or hours later) replay (wink, wink, nudge, nudge).

pregnancy.

The vasectomy is a beautiful, beautiful thing. Both my men (husband and lover) have been fixed and it's fabulous. I have a latex allergy, so it was snip, snip or an IUD or tubal for me. Snip, snip was cheaper and permanent.

Women.
(just the one, actually, but it works pretty well)

Condoms. The Pill gives me wicked migraines, we probably aren't done with kiddos yet, so no vasectomies or tubal ligations for the time being. I'm also wickedly sensitive to my husband's sperm, so just a little bit of his juice and my downtown is full of protesters. It's gotten so bad before that I've had to ice my cooter. Not pleasant. Thankfully, condoms are doing the job for now.
