The thing about crazy hair is that it sneaks up on you.
Seriously, it is wicked stealth. One day you're just cruising along, knowing full well that a cut and colour is way overdue, but you're busy and you figure you'll get to it one of these days, and then BAM!
You look in the mirror.
And there it is: crazy hair.
You wonder, "How long has my hair looked like that?" and "Dear God, why didn't I see it sooner?"
And you make an appointment to get something done about it, of course you do, but your stylist can't fit you in for more than a week (you're not exactly a regular customer since baby came along) and during the long days that follow you feel heavy with shame walking around with hair so obviously crazy that it wouldn't surprise you if it up and married some skanky backup dancer, popped out a couple of kids and pranced across a Vegas stage in a semi-comatose state and hot pants two sizes too small.
But at long last the big day does arrive and sanity is restored.
But don't let that smiling face fool you. Crazy hair can return at any time. And don't think it won't come for you.
I know someone - I don't want to say exactly who - who went 17 months (!!!) without a good cut and colour. I'm not kidding! And she's normally fairly hip. Seriously.
She's probably a bit like you. She just got caught up in being a mom and putting everyone else first. She was a little guilty of still thinking of herself as a young ingenue who could remain charming and sexy without proper maintenance. She just let the days go by until one day she looked in the mirror and cold, hard reality stared her in the face.
Crazy hair: don't let it happen to you.

It didn't look crazy before. It is lovely in both photos!

Yeah. Every six months or so I look up and notice that I have a LINE across my head when I pull my hair back because of the long roots. My appointment is for next Saturday.

It looks fabulous. I'm having one of those moments now........I need a serious hair style.

So pretty and shiny and sleek. Woo Hoo hot mama!
I haven't had a haircut in about 9 or 10 months, and I'm in desperate need. I'm growing out a short cut, and my hair needs love.

Oh, too funny! I didn't think you looked bad in photo one - but compared to photo two...ok I see your point.
(But you still look fabulous!!!)

I love your hair. It looks great.
Ever since having the kids, my hair has really taken a back seat to everything else. It is sad but I know someday I will be able to get it done regularly again. Luckily, my kids still think I am beautiful.

I am so bad about that. I have a gal that I love to pieces, only she lives in a different state than me. Every time I visit my parents I have an appointment with her to cut my hair. I have her cut it super short so the cut can last longer. I don't color my hair because I love my natural color.

I have that hair. But I just moved to a new area, and have NO idea where to get my hair done. It is terrifying. Changing doctors and hair stylists are the reasons I hate the Navy for moving us so often. Anyone know of a great place to get your hair cut on the Central Coast of CA?

Luckily for me, I have a hairdresser who is a miracle worker!
And your hair looks adorable!

My hair becomes crazy the moment after I wash it a cuople days after seeing my stylist. Despite regular maintenance and good conditioner. Because me, I have nothing in the hairstyling skillz area. Sad, really.
