I woke up yesterday morning with an aching butt.
And a thrilling sense of accomplishment.
It's not like that never happens anymore, but once you become a parent it just doesn't happen enough, you know?
Except for this week: this week I was on fire.
Yup, I took to the old stair master three evenings after dinner last week folks and indeed, it hurts so good.
I have done a much better job of sticking to my Healthy Eating Challenge over the last seven days and as a result I met two goals that I set for myself when I started a few weeks back: all three of us sat down to dinner together by 7:15 p.m. at the latest every weekday and I spent some of my freed-up time later in the evening exercising.
I have discovered some more great frozen foods that I'm thrilled to recommend. Salmon marinated in honey mustard? Awesome. Chicken breasts stuffed with mushrooms and provolone cheese? Sweet. Pizza with goat cheese, spinach and roasted red pepper? Hell, yes.
They're yummy, the have reduced fat and calories and they take zero effort so I'll definitely keep some of them on the menu after I finish the challenge next week.
The only drawback? Quality and convenience don't come cheap. These entrees cost more - a few dollars per serving - than it would to buy the ingredients and work your magic with them yourself. If you've got teenagers or school aged children with hearty appetites it will add up quickly.
But you're a diva like me, you might fork it out occasionally if it means more time to spend on pursuing the important things in life.
Like, you know, that exquisite pain the butt, that for me means maybe I'll be able to wear some of the fashions I reviewed a few months back.

The extra cost is a small price to pay for convenience. Popping something frozen into the oven is easy enough for the husband to do. Of course if I could only afford a chef, then I'd be rocking it.

Those frozen foods sound too good to be convenience!
And good for you for getting on that Stairmaster ... 3 x is awesome!

Double lame. I spoke too soon. The prematurely entered comment did not show up.

Unseemly as it may be for an admiring Gentleman to contemplate the potentials of the buttocks of a young lady, I am, nonetheless, pleased for you in your accomplishment. All physical benefits aside, I am delighted to hear your voice ring out with the satisfaction and comfort in mastering your personal challenge. Your happiness always engenders pleasure for me.
Prob'ly 'cause I love Ya (an' all that stuff ... ya know.) [admiring smile]
