It is at this point when everything I've worked on starts to look a little lop-sided and clownish.
I've planned to give out some home-made things this year. Well, I was. Until I woke up this morning and had a long hard look at exactly how many more days there are before Christmas, (because let's be honest - Christmas comes whether you're ready or not...) and calculated out how many free hours (answer: 3.5729) I have left, and figured I was going to have to either work in fast-forward or go out to the shops and join the throngs.
Here's a little preview: (welcome to my nightmare)
My crocheting is an intricate array of lop-sided grubby knots. Now if I had a relative interested in a mobius strip or ...say, a hand-done cat nose and whiskers, I'd be getting somewhere. (A big knot! With strings on each side! I can do that!)
my nemesis.
I have three cross-stitch projects from last year (yeah. I'm good at this crafty panicking stuff) that I'm trying to not even think of, since I'm so bored with all of them.
Two clay projects that should be dry about the time of the Second Coming New Year's Day.
Eight unfinished painted ornaments. Not kid-friendly stuff at all, so I have to wait until (yawn) late at night to work on them....zzzzunk.
A circus animal tin-pierced shapes set that has totally run away from me.And I can't remember who I started making them for, darn it.
I'm thinking more and more of giving food gifts this Christmas. Everyone loves fruitcake, right?
RIGHT??
These people had great ideas:
All over the blogosphere people are being creative, funny, and kind. Just...not me, apparently.
Hmm, I wonder if there's something I could do with cough drops and forks? Nah.
Back to the crochet board.
feel free to take pity on me and tell me what wonderful things you're creating for Christmas!
